This preoccupation is united with my deep engagement in the material and philosophical terrain of printmaking. The work takes many forms including works on paper, installation, participatory and temporary public art. The Book of Eternal Returns and The Doubt of Being, in-progress projects that will be on view for Open Studios, include miniature sculptural monuments and large scale collages as well as an unbound book of prints. As I work through these forms and materials, I struggle with new questions about time and history and the way we compose the narratives of our lives, especially as they rub up against current events and the deep-time, long view of human existence. I often find the most satisfying potential answers in the work where dualities like fate and will, the domestic and the public, rhythm and disjunction, collide.
