I am a Korean adoptee, creative producer, and art curator. I was adopted to the US in 1985 and grew up in the midwest. My work in curation and community art engagement exposes the artist’s creative process, facilitates art projects to fruition, and develop programming that brings people together. Over the last ten years, my creative practice has focused on gathering stories, following my own research, forging artistic collaborations, and fostering community engagement as an Events Engineer, Atmosphere Designer, Visual Storyteller, Melancholy Musician, Art Curator, Creativity Promoter, and an occasional Dreamstormer. My work gives voice to the human experience through the relationships that this journey creates or destroys, and the pursuit of self-discovery.
This multidisciplinary approach to my creative practices has opened up personal space to shape and makes sense of my ethnic and cultural identity, as someone who grew up in Kansas and didn’t see media that depicted people “like me”.This internal need for belonging and self-discovery has shown me the importance of telling our own stories and ultimately is what has led me to be intentional in building platforms for others who otherwise wouldn’t have access.
