Courtesy the artist. In my practice I utilize common building materials to invent and obscure notions of domestic space. I believe the home is dichotomous, both shelter and signifier. It holds all the intimacies of our lives whilst projecting an outward identity. This simultaneous existence as safe haven and real estate speculation muddles the framework of who we are versus what we have. I use the falsehood of the American Dream and the obsessive nature of home ownership and home improvement as inspiration for my art.
