Kaleidoscope #2 (2016) Abstract finger painting in acrylic.
I started painting in August of 2009 as a dare to myself after having interviewed local artists for an arts and culture website I used to run. I began wondering what I could do, so I bought some cheap poster board and finger paints and started experimenting. The first few paintings were awful, but then I put some paintings online and they started selling. I'd never intended to be an artist & had only taken a few art classes in pastels, so I was very surprised to find myself becoming a professional artist.
I most often paint with my hand. Why? Not only is it faster to spread the paint on the canvas, but my intuition comes through more easily. Also, I love the tactile feel of the paint moving on the canvas.
I look forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have about my work.
