As a multidisciplinary artist, I pride myself on bringing focus to human form, specifically bodies of color. Throughout my paintings and illustrations, I gravitate towards a more literal and abstract functionality of the Black female body. I explore sexuality and self-identity using my own body as a source of material and am most interested in social observance, social standards, and illusion as it pertains to the body.
In my mixed media, using using a wide range of materials (i.e. photography, botanical features, clippings, drawings, etc), I emphasize on the formality of individuals living and functioning within the city. Struggle, insecurity, fluctuation, classicism, and inequality are subliminally captured throughout many of my portraits and juxtapose life’s luxuries and life’s realities.
